I was wondering whether is there a need for us to provide a very clear video (capturing the car reg. number) in support of any accident case to substantially win over a case.

I thought a motion video is just/only a 'supplement' to prove the statement in the report is genuine rather than 'story-telling' trying to distort the truth.

Unless, the concern authority or any challenging party is claiming that the recorded video is 'specially-made'.

Anyone wanna share his opinion on this?

Cheers! Smiley

In my opinion, the image seems reasonably clear to me. Although the car plate may not be captured clearly and like Derrick mentioned, at least there is some sort of truth or evidence of prove if required. Moreover at under $140, what more can you ask for? Unless you're willing to pay more for a higher end product with a better specs.

bros, practically speaking i dun think that there are many recorders out there that can really really see the no plate very clearly. if really got accident, going by the car model/color/approximate reading of the no plate + surroundings, etc.. it is gd enuff as evidence. dun get too hung up on the no plate thing. for this price, i would say this model is VERY VERY good.. go for it.. MTL

and esp if the car is moving, from photography angle, you know that very slight movement will lead to blur images. that's a physical limitation which no camera can overcome, unless they start putting in anti-shake functions.

Sorry bro, I opt out from this GB for Cube7100.

My major concern is the number plate readable. I n any case of time if we need any witness to aid any investigation, those other car plate will be the witness TP can look for. Rather than if I am still awake(alive) to rememer all those car plate around me to be my witness.

Last week my Company had a Traffic Police Officer to come over for a Road Safety Talk. For all accident he mentioned, mostly need witness outside your car(our passanger cannot be our witness). He did remind us to take down number plates to help each investigation. So to me the number plate is useful.

Infact I had bought a HD720P 2 weeks ago and the number plate is clear for day time. For night time the reflection is too strong. But of course the camera size is bigger than Cube, and the price is higher(still below S$200 my budget).

GPS is not a MUST hv to me, my speed reading is a good not to be shown in any case if speeding.  Naughty Naughty

Just to share here are my recording using mid range resolution 848 X 480.

HD720P DVR with 848x480 Res

HD720P DVR 848x480Res

The reflection is too bright. I test to off my headlight at 13sec and the number plate is readable then.

HD720P DVR night shot 848X480des

I off my headlight and drive all the way for this.

After discussing with my groups of friends, they want to go for HD720P.

Bro FB, I will PM you my account number.

Sorry for the trouble. :'( :'( :'(
